Bicyclists throughout the region are invited to the premiere of a Howell at the moon production called Pedal Driven a bikeumentary being shown as part of a fundraiser for Scott’s Flat Lake Trail Project. The August 10th event at the Old 5 Mile House begins with key note speaker Jason Moeschler who used to work at Tour of Nevada City Bicycle shop, Owner of the shop Dwayne Strauser says he is now a professional mountain bike racer and more.
“A very high quality, professional mountain bike racer for many, many years; he’s done some road bike racing, some cross racing. He’s actually had some pretty good finishes in the Nevada City Classic against some of the top pro road racers in the world.”
Strawser says the trail project will be a gift to the community.
“That is a wonderful project that is going to benefit all of Nevada County. It actually brings both hikers as well as bikers back down from the 5 Mile House, Scotts Flat corridor, down towards Willow Valley and into town without actually driving in a car. It’s going to be a wonderful addition and it another one of the little pieces of the puzzle to make full connectivity between Grass Valley and Nevada City, eventually.”
The outdoor setting on the patio will include a silent auction with donations from both Tour of Nevada City cycle shop and Extreme Sports on Grass Valley and Hors d’oeuvres from the Old 5 Mile House. for tickets and more information e-mail pedal movie @gmail.com.
