Sierra Stages Wins Several Elly Awards

Nevada County’s outstanding community theater is recognized again by the Sacramento region theater alliance. Sierra Stages has received 10 Elly Award nominations this year. Peter Mason with Sierra Stages says they were surprised by the nominations.

“We’re surprised. We think we do really good work and we’re happy we were recognized and a little bit surprised. I think it’s recognition that there is a lot of theatrical talent here in Nevada County.”

Mason shares the nominations for their production of “Lend Me a Tenor”.

“We got six nominations for the play “Lend me a Tenor”. It was nominated overall comedy production as well as a nomination for Diane as the Director and Robert Rossman as an actor and Frances Boero as a supporting actress Pam Hodges for the sets and Ardith Gray for costumes.”

The other nominations are for Sierra Stages production of Old Explorers with 3 nominations including Robert Rossmen as lead actor and Rossmen along with Steven Wellmen as Directors and Rod Lewis for lighting design. Sierra Stages is currently in production of the comedy “The 25th Annual Putnum county Speeling Bee” showing in October.
