A quarter acre fire that was burning in the area of HWY 20 and Pine Flat near the Old 5 Mile House has been contained. The vegetation fire was emitting a column of black smoke into the sky yesterday afternoon. Ann Westling with the Tahoe National Forest service says crews were mopping up in the area into yesterday evening.

Resources include four engines, two water tenders a hand crew and associated overhead resources.
