South Yuba River State Parks

Nevada County Save Our State Parks groups are prepared to take a box full of signatures and support letters to Sacramento along with an agreement from the county board of supervisors to support a parking fee at Bridgeport. The south Yuba river State Park and Malakoff Diggins are on the state list of parks to be closed this year. S Executive Director Caleb Dardick says, By, showing ways that the parks can generate revenue, like paid parking, supporters are hoping to remove them from the closure list.

“We launched a signature campaign and a letter writing campaign to the governor December 12th. We thought the goal was ambitious to get 5,000 signatures in 30 days. We met that 5,000 in less time than that, and now we’re on track and we are closing in on 10,000 signatures.”

The letters and petitions will be delivered to Sacramento on Wednesday February 8th.
