The Grass Valley city council is holding a special meeting of the Capital Improvements Authority and Redevelopment Agency tonight (Tuesday Sept 27). Agenda items include the implementation of Grass Valley’s Marketing and promotion strategy which includes the web site that is up and running now at www.goGrassValley.com.
Another item is the consideration of an amendment to the general plan that defers the annexation of property at the Bear River Mill Site Special Development area and intervening properties lying south from McKnight Way and the HWY 49 interchange. Rare Earth and Nevada County have purchased acreage at the location. City Administrator Dan Holler say the county purchased property for a new equipment storage facility and Rare Earth is looking to expand its Landscape and materials business at that location as well.
“It impacts the property from there all the way up to the city limits at McKnight, and so we take a look at all of that property and the zoning elements and say ‘leave it as it currently is in the master plan’ or update the plan to reflect some modifications in the zoning by meeting with the property owners and those discussions.”
The Grass Valley city council meets at city hall at 125 East Main Street in Grass Valley at 6:30 pm tonight in council chambers.
