Stalled Vehicle Causes Accident on Loma Rica

A stalled car was involved in an accident on Brunswick Road, Friday morning. CHP Public Information Officer Marc Morrison says a 22 year old Nevada City woman was making a turn from Brunswick Road onto Loma Rica Drive in her 1999 Mercury Sable, when the engine lost power.

“A statement from the vehicle that was turning revealed that her vehicle had stalled as soon as she started to make her left turn, so she wasn’t able to get out of the way of the other car in time resulting in the collision.”

A south bound Grass Valley man was not able to stop in time. His 2009 Dodge pickup collided with the Mercury. The driver of the Mercury Sable suffered non-life threatening injuries to her face in the accident. The accident remains under investigation.
