Sunday's Side Swiping Accident Leaves One Woman Injured

A woman who was injured in a rollover accident after her vehicle was sideswiped by another car has been released from the hospital.   CHP Officer Jeff Pingree says the accident happened midday Sunday, west bound on the freeway near the Banner Lava Cap over crossing. Officer Pingree says the 18 year old woman driving a 1992 Honda clipped the rear of a 2008 Lexus driven by a 60 year old Nevada City woman.

“For reasons we don’t know as to why yet, she veered off into the number two lane and sideswiped a vehicle traveling in the same direction.”

The driver of the Lexus went up on the bank striking a tree, which caused her car to roll over. The driver of the Honda was not injured. The accident remains under investigation.
