Supervisors pay Tribute to Retiring Board Clerk and County Counsel

Nevada County Supervisors this week paid tribute to two county employees who are retiring tomorrow. County Counsel Michael Jamison   is retiring after five years with the county and was thanked for his service.  Board Clerk, Cathy Thompson who started working at the county when she was still in high school is retiring after 42 years of service.   Supervisor Nate Beason said Cathy has supported 50 politically diverse supervisors with dedication, objectivity, tenacity and a sense of humor.

“Supervisors have come and gone, but behind the scenes, Kathy remained and institution and a source of continuity and stability for the board office.”

Several of the supervisors and staff who have worked with Cathy Thompson were at the board meeting and paid her tribute with a standing ovation.
