A suspected drunk driver hit a car on Ridge road near Spenceville road and left the scene. CHP got a call of a hit and run collision Wednesday afternoon and minutes later, a call came in for an injury collision. The CHP unit assigned diverted to the injury collision and found the vehicle described at the hit and run at the scene. The driver was identified as Adam Angelico, 35 years old from Grass Valley. CHP Officer Heather Blancarte says a K-9 unit was needed to get the driver out of the vehicle.
“The driver was uncooperative and barricaded himself in the vehicle. The officer requested back up. With the help of the K-9 unit, we were able to get the driver to come out of the car. He was evaluated and suspected to be under the influence.”
Angelico was charged with DUI, possession of a controlled substance, paraphernalia, possession of a syringe and 2 counts of hit and run and booked into the Wayne Brown correctional Facility.
