The Lake Tahoe water shuttle that started Friday, Aug. 3 charges $10 for a trip of about 16 miles that provides dual benefits, Ron Treabess says.

Up to 4 million people visit Lake Tahoe over a year. Riders reserve seats on the water shuttle through smart phones, computers or iPads at kiosks at the docks.
