Talks On for Consolidation of Dispatch Services

Nevada County Law Enforcement agencies, all eager to cut costs in a dwindling economy, will meet next week to discuss a consolidation of  dispatch services according to Nevada County Sheriff Keith royal.

Sheriff Royal says since then, budgets have gotten tighter and agencies are exploring  new options  and formulas for how each agency would pay in to keep a combined dispatch center going.

Nevada City has previously contracted with the Sheriff’s Office for dispatch services.  That contract expired in May of this year.    The proposed consolidation would include Truckee, Nevada City and Grass Valley Police Departments  all receiving dispatch services from the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office.
