Teenager Taken to Hospital After 49 Crash

A rear end collision on Highway 49 sent one of the drivers to the hospital. CHP Public Information Officer Heather Blancarte says the accident happened near Oak Drive, shortly after noon August 15th. Officer Blancarte says slow traffic caused one driver in a 1994 Toyota pickup to slow down, but the teenage driver behind in a 2000 Toyota, was not able to stop.

“There was a driver driving a 2000 Toyota Celica Northboud 49 South of Oak Drive. That driver observed traffic slowing ahead, slowed down for traffic and the vehicle behind failed to slow down and rear ended the Celica.”

The teen ager from Auburn was taken to Sierra Nevada Hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries. The driver of the pickup was not injured.
