Tempers Flared in Olivehurst Sending Two to the Hospital

The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department arrested an Olivehurst man after a confrontation left two people hospitalized, Yuba County deputies responded to the 4000 block of College Way for a disturbance at about 8:00 p.m. Thursday night.  They discovered William Cross, 34, and Randi Cross, 30, both of Dobbins, in need of medical attention.  Deputies learned that the two of them had been in a confrontation with Jason Gorham, 24, of Olivehurst, who had left the area in a vehicle.  Lt. Damon Gil from the Yuba county Sheriff’s office says Mr. Cross had been hit with a stilt.

“Mr. Gorham allegedly hit Mr. Cross with what was described as a stiltand had also punched Mrs. Cross in the face. Mr. Cross ended up with what was possibly even a broken bone and was hospitalized. Mrs. Cross was also hospitalized after a blow to the head.”

Both of the injured parties were taken to Rideout Hospital for further treatment.  The incident stemmed from an earlier disagreement between Gorham and an acquaintance of the Cross’s.  A deputy responding to the scene spotted Graham’s vehicle as it left the area.  The deputy stopped Gorham and later arrested him.  Gorham was booked into the Yuba County Jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, battery resulting in serious bodily injury and a parole violation.
