This morning I was in the newsroom laughing about some of the local scofflaws. The general consensuses was that it’s too bad idiocy can’t be outlawed.
I asked why not? Laws could be drafted that could create extra charges of various types of stupid behavior in the course of committing a crime. You could have a range from misdemeanor tomfoolery to felonious folly. With appropriate additional sentencing for these special circumstances.
Afternoon news anchor Paul Haas suggested at the lowest level misdemeanor the sentence could be self determined by the person incarcerated. Those simpletons would simple be placed in an unlocked cell . . . . . . .
