The Auburn Air Show called Thunder in the Sky runs all day tomorrow (Saturday) for the public to have a rare opportunity to see up close the war birds of world war II. Event Organizer Tim O’Brien says these planes are an important part of history , and like most antiques are increasing in value.

O’Brien says besides being rare, the war birds are also increasingly expensive to operate. The beefy engines can burn 60 gallons of fuel an hour.

The Auburn Air Show also features vintage aircraft, experimental aircraft, and the Patriot Jet Team performing a sky show. The Auburn Air Fair runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Auburn Airport Saturday July 7. Auburn Airport is located on New Airport Road off Bell Rd. in Auburn.
