Truckee Found One of its Most Wanted

A Truckee Police Officer recognized a wanted person around 1 am this morning who was the suspect in several open burglary and theft investigations.  The Officer attempted to stop the subject which led to a short foot pursuit through the area. A short time later, the subject was located hiding in the back yard of a nearby residence in the Sierra Meadows neighborhood.  Sergeant Rob Leftwich says they have been searching for 27 year old Christopher Haring from Truckee for a month since he was linked to several thefts including Christmas presents.

“It’s just a patrol officer happened to come across a suspicious vehicle and when he pulled up on the vehicle, the subject got out and running and he recognized him as being the same individual that we’ve been looking for from the previous crimes. We found a lot of this stolen property over the last couple of weeks and obviously it’s been an ongoing investigation but specifically today, we found a lot of the stolen property in his vehicle. It was good to get them back to the owners.”

Christopher Haring, a 27 year old male from Truckee sustained a minor injury during his flight.  He was treated and released from Tahoe Forest Hospital..  Haring was transported to the Nevada County Jail in Truckee, where he was booked on an outstanding warrant, possession of stolen property and resisting arrest.
