Truckee Police Arrest Burglary Suspect

Truckee Police have arrested a burglary suspect that is connected with several residential, commercial and vehicle burglaries in the city of Truckee, Placer County and Washoe County, Nevada. Truckee Police Detective Danny Renfrow says 24 year old Matthew Joshua Stanaway of Incline Village was identified as a suspect in surveillance tape captured during an early morning burglary of an electronics store in Truckee on March 7th.

“He burglarized an electronics store, Carlson’s electronics in Truckee and through the collaborative investigation with Placer County, Washoe County’s Sheriff Department and the Truckee Police Department, we were able to identify Stanaway as the suspect.”

Detectives got a warrant for Stanaways arrest and he was apprehended on March 21st in possession of some of the stolen electronics. Detective Renfrow says more stolen items were fund during a search of his residence.

“During the service of that search warrant we were able to recover all of the property related to the Carlson Electronics burglary as well as other outstanding cases in Washoe County and Placer County.”

Stanaway was booked into the Nevada County jail on a warrant for burglary. He’s also pending additional charges in other jurisdictions.
