An alleged thief trying to use stolen credit and debit cards ended up in jail after he was unsuccessful in using the cars at a convenience store in Truckee. Truckee Police Sgt Danny Renfrow says an alert clerk realized the cards did not belong to the suspect, later identified as Julian Matthes.
The cards all had different names on them. When confronted, Matthes left in his vehicle. The clerk provided a description of both the suspect and the vehicle to police.
Matthes was arrested for burglary, possession of stolen property, possession forged access cards, and possession of controlled substances without a prescription.
