Two Accidents Saturday Send Motorists to Hospital

Two accidents over the weekend sent people to the local hospital. At 1:30 Saturday afternoon on Highway 49, a quarter of a mile south of McKnight Way, responding personnel from Nevada County Consolidated and Grass Valley fire found two vehicles involved in a collision with moderate to minor injuries to the two drivers.  Both drivers were removed from the vehicles and transported to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital by ambulance.  Traffic was backed up for approximately a half hour in both directions due to the accident. The Cause is still under investigation.    Then on Saturday at 3pm personnel responded to a reported vehicle accident involving a car into a tree on Banner Lava Cap Road near Mayflower Drive.   Upon arrival the two occupants were out of the vehicle. One occupant sustained apparent moderate injuries and the other refused treatment.  The injured occupant was transported to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital.
