Two Arrested on Someone Else's Probation Check

Two people were arrested when Sheriff’s Deputies check on a probationer in Penn Valley. Sheriff’s Lieutenant Shannon Moon says deputies went to a home on Brindle Pony Drive shortly after midnight. Lieutenant Moon says all the people in the home were awake when Deputies entered. They found the probationer was in complete compliance, but two other people were taken into custody.

“The subject was located and a search was conducted. Nothing was located to believe that the probationer was doing anything illegal. But two people inside the residence were arrested. Melissa Turner, who is a 45 year old female from Rough and Ready was arrested on some local warrants and possession of a controlled substance and also arrested at the residence was Steven Hunter, 20 years old from Goodyears Bar, California.”

Hunter was found to be in possession of dangerous drugs without a prescription. Both people were booked at the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility.
