Citations were issued to the clerks that sold tobacco products to the under-age juveniles.
Captain Mitchell said results were a little disappointing, but based on the news of the citations being issued store owners will come into compliance.

Persons under the age of 18 years are not allowed to purchase tobacco products in California. When the age of the purchaser is in question merchants should check identification.
The three store locations recently cited included the Union 76 gas station and a 7-11 Store on Donner Pass Road, and Z Marketplace on Northwoods Blvd.
The Police Department will conduct periodic future tobacco operations and take enforcement action as appropriate.
