Updated Information on Attempted Abduction

An attempted abduction on the Scotten School campus in Grass Valley was unsuccessful Thursday morning. Grass Valley Superintendent Eric Fredrickson tells KNCO the incident was witnessed by a parent that corroborated the student’s explanation of events.

The child’s parent was still on campus and the parent then went to the principal. The superintendent says that a staff presence has been increased on Scotten and Lyman Gilmore campuses. Several teachers reported seeing an adult matching the description nearby.*

Fredrickson praises the student for avoiding the stranger and reporting the incident immediately.
