Author ~ Writing Coach ~ Presenter Creator of “Write Your Story Workshops” For 25 years Jan Fishler was a corporate scriptwriter, copywriter, video producer, and trainer, who also dabbled in marketing and public relations, mostly in the non-profit arena. In 2009 she self-published, Searching for Jane, Finding Myself (An Adoption Memoir), available at Amazon.com. and local bookstores. Because Jan knows that everyone has a story to tell, most recently, she developed a painless and fun method to help others write their story. Her Write Your Story workshop taps into the power of the subconscious so that stories come to life and practically write themselves. Jan is also the producer of "The Path to Publication" DVD series, available from Films for the Humanities and Sciences. Filmed at the Community of Writers Conference at Squaw Valley, the series contains advice from such well-known authors as Amy Tan, Anne Lamott, Janet Fitch, and Mark Childress. Jan has a B.S. in English Literature/Creative Writing and an M.S. in Educational Technology/Instructional Design. She lives in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada where, when she’s not writing, Jan hikes with her Golden Retriever, kayaks with her husband, and regularly works out at the gym. Tell Me Something Good: Welcome Home Vets

Telling us something good today was Gary Brown, Executive Director of Welcome Home Vets,

www.welcomehomevets.org/ an organization providing psychological help for veterans and their families at no cost. The non profit creates a healing community where veterans, active duty military and their families feel understood and valued.  There are groups, classes, and psychologists to cover such topics as PTSD, depression, anxiety, trauma–especially traumatic brain injury, and family issues.
