The CHP says most every accident reported over the weekend was weather related. Public Information Officer Marc Morrison says there were thirteen different reported accidents over the weekend and the majority was on Highway 20 above Nevada City in the snow areas.
“A lot of these occurred on the upper parts of Highway 20 and they obviously get a lot more snow up there. It is interesting that several of them were driving four wheel drive vehicles. One was driving a four wheel drive vehicle but didn’t have it in four wheel drive.”
Officer Morrison says the two causes for the accidents were driving too fast and drivers over correcting when their cars started to skid. Officer Morrison says slowing down would help driver in both situations. Only one of the accidents reported involved a driver under the influence.
