Rita Stevens joined KNCO as morning news anchor in 1999. She comes to KNCO following a 20 year career in journalism in the San Francisco Bay Area. She was a news reporter for KRON TV Channel 4 and KPIX, and earlier worked in the newsrooms at KNEW/KSAN radio. Rita is a graduate of San Jose State University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science. Rita says she came to Nevada County to enjoy the rural pace and finds working in a community radio station like KNCO refreshing. Her hobbies include bicycle riding, and quilting.

Welcome back to the KNCO News family, Ryan McCarthy. Veteran news reporter Ryan McCarthy began covering the foothills and surrounding region  for the Sacramento Bee zoned editions in 1990. Most recently he was a reporter for the Marysville Appeal-Democrat covering courts, city government and schools. He returns to KNCO and the airwaves with great enthusiasm.

Dear Mr. McCarthy,

Thank you for caring so much about interviewing me about the 1940 murals painted by my Great Grand Uncle's Victor Vesley and his Brother Guff Francis Vesley at the DelOro. I wanted to mention about Victor's Brother Guff Vesley also but I was so choked up, Guff slipped my mind. Please add Guff into your news as he is apart of the history to.
