Woman Arrested for Being Drunk in Public

A woman is in custody after a family member was concerned for her welfare. Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal says a brother was concerned because his sister was heavily intoxicated and near a gas station Friday night. The Sheriff says each of the gas stations in Penn Valley was checked. The woman was located in the brush near the Chevron station on Pleasant Valley Road.

“Checking the area heard some moaning from some bushes near the station and checking further found the individual we were looking for, and apparently she did appear to be heavily intoxicated. When asked how much she’d had to drink, she said ‘two beers’ and apparently they must have been very large beers.”

The Sheriff says the woman was taken into custody for being under the influence. The Sheriff says had the brother not been concerned the results could have been very different.
