Woman Killed in Five Car Accident in Auburn

One woman died and another was injured following a violent wreck on Highway 49 near Joeger Road yesterday afternoon. According the Highway Patrol, a woman driving a red Ford Mustang traveled into oncoming traffic and struck a tan Infiniti. The Mustang then continued to swerve out of control and struck a black Nissan Altima, then  went airborne , colliding with two more vehicles before  coming to rest on its side.  The female driver of the Mustang was ejected and died at the scene.  She was the only one in her car. The woman who was driving the black Nissan Altima was transported to Sutter Roseville Medical Center by ground ambulance. In all, five vehicles were involved in the wreck that backed up traffic for  miles on Highway 49 approaching Joeger road.
