Women's Day is March 8th

An Internationally known Senior Advisor with the United Nations Foundation Gillian Martin Sorensen will be in Grass Valley to celebrate International Women’s Day Thursday March 9th with two speaking engagements. Ted Smith is on the Board of the United Nations Association local Golden Empire Chapter who says Ms. Sorensen will be making the trip from New York City to speak on of her experience with many countries and their ambassadors in the search for peace and prosperity. Her talk is titled: “Women and Men Changing the World Together.”

“Gillian brings just a tremendous background of information about women’s issues; empowering women, educating girls all around the world, I guess you could say. She works for the UN Foundation, which financially supports those types of programs, health and well being.”

Sorensen will be speaking at the Sierra College Nevada County Campus multipurpose room at 12 noon this Thursday and again at 7pm at the Unity in the gold Country located at 180 Cambridge court in the Whispering Pines business area between Idaho Maryland and Brunswick Roads.
