Women of Worth Collecting Cell Phones

Women of Worth is partnering with Shelter Alliance and having a cell phone collection fundraiser to support our direct client programs at their shelter, Hetty’s Haven. For the month of February, you can drop off your old cell phones, in any condition, at collection sites throughout Nevada County. Sarah Gregary, office administrator for Women of Worth says the phones are recycles like other e-waste and the money raised benefits the program.

“We are working with Shelter Alliance and they work directly with other shelters like us and we turn the cell phones into them, they recycle them, but they pay us for the phones. So with that money that we get from the phones, we’re able to support our programs.”

In Nevada City we have collections boxes at Mana Beads, SPD, and Forest Charter School. In Grass Valley you can drop your old phones off at SPD, Volz Bros. Automotive, Walker’s Office Supply, Anew Day, Union Newspaper, and here at KNCO at the corner of Dorsey and E. Main. You can also stop by Curves in Lake of the Pines and in Meadow Vista. After February, WOW will continue accepting phones at the Women of Worth office at 143F Springhill Dr. Grass Valley. For more information, please call 272-6851.
