The Nevada County Historical Society guest speaker tonight is local resident and prolific western writer Chris Enss discussing her latest Bedside Book of Bad Girls: Outlaw women of the Midwest.

Enss says Many of the women were quite pretty and used their wiles to execute their schemes.
Other bad women of the west were horse thieves and jailbreakers, gamblers and bank robbers.

Enss will also be sharing about her two years of research compiling fresh and little known information on these renegades. The Talk Thursday evening, Jan. 17, begins at 7pm at the Madelyn Helling Libray Community Room and is free and open to the public.
