The Young Eagles Program is returning to the Nevada County Airport this Saturday. If you are between the ages of 8 and 17 years old, you are eligible for a free ride in a small airplane.
That’s Paul Bevelhymer, Young Eagle Coordinator and one of the pilots that will be taking youth on a flight that they hope will be a first step to help young people move forward in aviation.
The training course is suggested for youth 15 and older and when completed qualifies the student to take the written pilot exam. Bevelhymer says research shows that these young people are five times more likely to become pilots than non-Young Eagles.
The Young Eagles flights will be from 9a.m. until Noon at the Nevada County Airport this Saturday. A parent or legal guardian must accompany each child to complete the registration
