Youngest Generator Technician in the Country

Nevada County is the home of the youngest certified technician for a major home generator manufacturer in the United States. Sixteen year old Chase Shepherd recently completed coursework and testing earning his technician certification.

Chase’s father, Edison, is home-schooling his son and is mentoring him as well.

Edison made a decision to home-school Chase because of personal reasons, and said that Chase has a goal to eventually take over the family business.

Along with being the youngest certified Generac Technician and working alongside his father, Chase Shepherd is also active in the community.

Chase plans to be become certified for Briggs and Stratton Generators next, and eventually certified in all home generator systems.
