Yuba County Control Burn Underway

Ann Westling with the Tahoe National Forest says they are conducting a controlled burn in Yuba County that got started yesterday (Wednesday) that is making a lot of smoke visible on the North San Juan Ridge area.

“It’s just north of Bullard’s Bar Reservoir and we have about 20 acres of hand piles where crews  have been piling brush and small trees over the summer and fall and are now burning those hand piles. So they’re burning those piles and people on the ridge are seeing smoke.”

Westling says over the next couple of weeks residents can expect to see smoke from control burns in the area of Yuba County just north of Bullard’s Bar Reservoir.
