Yuba County Man Arrested for March 4th Shooting

The man believed to be responsible for the March 4th shooting that left a Linda man critically injured is in custody in the state of Nevada, according to Yuba County Sheriff Lt. Damon Gil.

“Last week, the state of Nevada Highway Patrol had made a traffic stop on a vehicle with several subjects inside. That investigation and the traffic stop lead to the officers locating what I believe to be about a half pound of methamphetamine. Mr. Thao was actually taken in to custody as one of the four people in the vehicle.”

Thao tried to give a relatives name to authorities, but he was positively identified through fingerprints. Yuba County Investigators had obtained a warrant for Thao’s arrest for the shooting of Jason Webster, 32, of Linda.  Investigators believe that the shooting was the result of a dispute between the two men.  Webster remains hospitalized in critical condition.
