13th Annual Wild and Scenic Film Festival

The SYRCL Wild and Scenic Film Festival opens Thursday night for a 4 day run in Nevada City and Grass Valley. Festival Director Melinda Booth says there is a diverse range of topics covered in this years films.

Films and activities are happening at 7 venues in Nevada City and at the Del Oro and the Center for the Arts in Grass Valley. and Commercial Street in Nevada City will be blocked off for special events over the weekend.

The films will be shown in sessions and 70 percent of the film makers will be on hand to do a Q and A with the audience after their film shows.

This years theme for the film festival is “A Wild Life” and many of the films will be adventure films, and some deal with wildlife.

The Nevada City Elks Lodge has been added as one of the venues for this year and a free shuttle will run between there, and downtown Nevada City and Grass Valley for festival ticket holders on Saturday.
