133rd Donation Day Parade in Grass Valley

It may be one of the biggest Donation Day Parades ever this year, as area school children marched with their cans of donated food through the streets of Grass Valley, eventually ending up at Hennessey School where the food was sorted for distribution. Debbie Luckenbill is a member of the Ladies Relief Society which she says started Donation Day 133 years ago.

The Firefighters follow after the children in the parade to collect donations of food and money for the Ladies Relief Society that merchants and those watching the parade have put out.  This year they collected  $363.34.
