A 16-year-old Grass Valley boy has been arrested for stealing 5 vehicles all over town in the last several weeks, among other charges. Police Sergeant Clint Bates says the boy, whose name is not being released because of his age, was detained while walking through a business parking lot on West Main Street…
Bates says that key was linked to a stolen vehicle. There was soon after a search of the boy’s home, which led to the discovery of more keys linked to stolen vehicles. The vehicles have all been returned to the owners, undamaged. Bates could only speculate on a motive…
Bates says the boy has also been charged with possession of stolen property, including $2,000 worth of tools in one vehicle. He also points out that the owners had left all 5 vehicles unlocked, with the keys in the ignition. He says there’s no evidence, at this point, of any other suspects involved.
