17th Airfest at Nevada County Airport

You’re likely to notice lots of activity at the Nevada County Airport on Loma Rica Friday as the planes registered for the big airfest this weekend will be arriving in Nevada County.

This is the 17th Airfest at Nevada County Airport and this year will also feature the Patriots Jet Team, which is a fast flying formation squadron of 6 L-39 Jets.  On the ground  attendees will see an assortment of rare and classic cars, a flight simulator and Cal Fire will have it’s air tac base open for people to view.   The Airfest officially opens tonight with a dinner dance with music from the World War 2 era….Saturday morning a pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 am opens the show…then a full day of activities …..Airfest is organized by the golden Empire flying association and proceeds go to fund scholarships to local students with an interest in aviation.
