2013 Grand Prix Series Awards

About 60 runners and walkers were honored at the 2013 Gold Country Grand Prix Series Awards ceremony Sunday afternoon. Awards for top male and female finishers in each age group and overall point winners were handed out by Grand Prix president John Fairchild. Fairchild says the 2013 series went well.

Fairchild says over 2000 runners participated in at least one of the eleven 5 and 10K events that make up the Grand Prix; and 117 participated in the minimum number of events required to be eligible for high point awards.
Of those 117, approximately 10 participated in all 11 events.
Fairchild says the Grand Prix Series is successful because of the collaboration of all of the race directors.

Runs are throughout the spring, summer and fall. The first run of the 2014 Grand Prix Series is the Daffodil Run in Penn Valley in April.
