300 Local Women to March on Washington

Over 300 women and girls from Nevada County are in Washington D-C today, but not necessarily to attend the inauguration. They will be participating in the Women’s March tomorrow. Over 200-thouasnd people will be marching, with the message to the incoming President that women’s rights are human rights. There will be simultaneous marches around the country, including one in Sacramento where over 20-thousand people are expected to take part. The Nevada County women in Washington include Supervisor Heidi Hall, Elisa Parker of ‘See Jane Do’, and Kimberly D’Urso of ‘Citizens for Choice’. The trip had been planned before the election in the hopes that they would attend the inauguration for Hillary Clinton, and witness the swearing in of the first female President of the United States.
