The Batwa Challenge got started when Creasey’s daughter, Amy created the event as her Senior Project while attending Nevada Union. The purpose was to raise funds for Dr. Scott Kellerman’s efforts to help the Batwa Pygmy’s of southwestern Uganda who, he says , in 1992 were kicked out of their homeland in the forest when it was made a heritage site for the mountain gorilla’s.
