Grass Valley will be the center of the local agricultural community this weekend. The 5th Annual Food and Farm Conference is at the Veteran’s Building on South Auburn Street. Conference organizer Eric Dickerson says the three day event is about raising awareness of sustainable food and farm issues.The Conference opens Friday with a sold out tour of three local farms. The tour allows an opportunity for people to see how local food producers use sustainable methods that leads to food on grocery store shelves farmers markets and restaurants.

The third stop is at First Rain Farm in Nevada City which highlights multi row-crop vegetables and a goat herd share project.
Saturday focuses on three keynote speakers.
