6th Annual Nevada City Adult Soap Box Derby June 5th

The 6th annual Nevada City Adult Soap Box Derby is coming up on Sunday, June 5th. Rich Bodine is organizing it again this year.Soapbox-1

The event is put on to raise money for improvements to Pioneer Park and over the years they have raised $30 thousand dollars.

The Derby is split into two classes the cars built for speed and then the art cars. There’s a local one that’s pretty popular…

Another great event on Derby day is the free swimming for the kids.

The racers start gathering in the Pitt near the tennis courts at 9 am and the races start at noon and go into the afternoon, typically wrapping up by 5 pm.
