There’s another opportunity to help feed the hungry in Nevada County. The 6th Annual Race to End Hunger benefiting the Nevada County Food Bank is Saturday morning. The event is a 5 and 10k run or a 5K walk. Food Bank Director, Toni Thompson, tells KNCO’s Tom Fitzsimmons on KNCO Insight: Nevada County Action that proceeds go towards feeding children in Nevada County.
Thompson says the local education community is very appreciative of the Food Bank’s efforts.
The Race for Hunger starts and ends at Forest Charter School Parking Lot on Searls Avenue and is an out-and-back course winding through Nevada City and Old Downieville Highway.
Registration opens at 7:00 AM and the Race starts at 8;30. The Race for Hunger is the 8th of 11 gold Country Grand Prix Running Series sponsored by the Sierra Trailblazers Running Club.
