7 Cars Burn in NSJ Fire

On Monday,  around 2pm North San Juan Fire Department and CAL FIRE  responded to a report of a debris fire at the intersection of   Pleasant Valley Road/Birchville Road.  Shortly after they arrived fire units   quickly changed to a wildland fire response  when they discovered a thick column of black smoke   coming from seven cars burning.

A full wildland response was initiated with additional engines from CAL FIRE and Tahoe National Forest Fire.

The fire was contained within an hour at 1/4 acre .  The cause of the fire is undetermined and under investigation.  All of the cars were thoroughly burned.
