$90,000 Settlement In Wolf Creek Pollution Case

A 90-thousand dollar settlement has been reached between the developer of a Grass Valley senior housing development and the state regarding stormwater sediment draining into a nearby creek and polluting it. The city had lifted a Stop Work Order a few days after drainage control improvements were made. But the following month, inspections found additional deficiencies. Stamas will pay half the money for the state’s cleanup and abatement account. The other half will help provide outreach to Grass Valley area tribal and disadvantaged community members, and others, with information about state-issued fish consumption guidelines for local water bodies
