A Chase of One Man Leads to the Arrest of Another

He’s been spotted, but got away again. A suspect that somehow escaped from a sheriff’s car while handcuffed Monday afternoon was spotted on Tuesday on East Main Street in Grass Valley. Grass Valley Police Sergeant Alex Gammelgard says that a caller reported John Grimes had been seen in a business and was walking down East Main Street. Police and Sheriff’s officers responded to the call and set up a perimeter and began a foot search of the wooded area behind Sierra College.

While continuing the search, officers made a check of an abandoned house in that area and came upon a male subject.

Apparently, Joe did not realize the men entering the abandoned house were officers and had pulled his knife for protection. Joe was booked on illegally entering a dwelling as well as wielding his knife and possession of paraphernalia. Grimes is still wanted by law enforcement.
