When I got here today I look a look at the almanac of today’s events in history. What a hard day it’s been throughout history!
First, and most dramatic this is the 101st anniversary of the sailing of the HMS Titanic. Today she set sail on her maiden voyage, leaving Southampton, England for Cherbough, France.
Second, and linked to the third event, in 1962 Stu Sutcliff died of a brain tumor. Stu was one of the founding members of a new music group called the Beatles (actually at the time they were also known as the Beatals, and the Silverbeatles). Stu was only 22. He left the group to study art. His impact was lasting however. Stu created the brushed forward hairstyle that the group used. This hair style also created a huge wave of anger amongst older Americans when the Beatles hit the US shores.
Third, also Beatles related, Paul McCartney released promotional copies of his first solo album. The album had a note from Paul saying that he had no plans for working with the Beatles because of “personal differences, business differences, musical differences.” He went on to say that he didn’t know if the break was temporary or permanent.
My advise for today, don’t leave on a trip, and hold off on any business decisions . . . . . . . . .
