AAUW Presents Grit and Glamor-All About Unique Women

The 1930’s with its grit and glamor will come alive when the American Association of University Women presents the third annual All About Unique Women event this Sunday at the North Star House in Grass Valley. A-A-U-W member and event chair Fran Erickson says people will discover what the 30’s were all about from the grit of breadlines and the dust Bowl to the glamor of Hollywood’s “Golden Age.”

Last year the group did a roaring 20’s theme…but Erickson says the 30’s was an era rich in contradictions. It was a time of escape from the grim realities of life caused by the depression. The event will feature fashions and vintage cars, music and popular culture of the era.
