Accident Causes Traffic Delays On Highway 174

A single vehicle accident caused slow traffic on highway 174 near the Bear River on Wednesday evening. CHP Officer Greg Tassone says that calls started coming in just after 4:30 PM.

Highway 174 was closed in both directions for about an hour until the roadway was partially cleared.
Tassone says that traffic was impacted for several hours. One way traffic controls were in effect while P G and E worked to replace the power pole.

The driver was suspected to be under the influence and was taken into custody after being checked out at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital.
